In fact there were even when Aperture was supported by Apple. ? I realize we're discussing Mylio, but there are many many alternatives. The ONLY application which ever cam close (very close in fact) was Aperture. And I am totally, totally overwhelmed by the sheer volume, and the lack of any kind of decent editing tool which would allow me to organise and manage projects, collections, concepts, whatever. That includes at least 50% marked "reject". My Lightroom library has 61,972 images - from over 20 years of photography. That's a good point, although as I say, you don't need to use anything for home sharing anyway.
MYLIO OS COMPATIBILITY FREE
However, I don't have much to lose with the free version. I saw that too, and I believe Affinity are also about to produce a DAM to go with their editor.Īnyway, to get back on topic, I'm not sure that, for me, Mylio provides a lot of extra functionality over Apple Photos. I will also be looking at On1 Raw, but I'm a little suspicious of their rather intensive, slick marketing and I'm not sure it will add much to what I'm already using. Affinity Photo is improving all the time and, like Mylio, their support and response is first rate.

You don't actually need to use Photos at all for sharing to the Apple TV, I export mine to a folder system from Lightroom using a Jeffrey Friedl plugin (to maintain capture dates in the filenames), and simply pick the parent folder in iTunes Homesharing.ĭxO is not perfect - fairly expensive, no local adjustments, but good at lens corrections and noise reduction. I also use SmugMug for more general publication although of course that is a subscription service. I will continue to use Apple Photos to share the final JPGs and to display them on Apple TV.
MYLIO OS COMPATIBILITY PRO
I'm trying all sorts of combinations of software and at the moment I'm leaning towards a system where I edit in DxO Optics Pro or, increasingly likely, Affinity Photo and maybe use Mylio for managing only the final edited JPGs. If I'm not mistaken the regular version allows the management of RAW images - but you cannot edit them. I've currently signed up for Mylio Premium for a year but will probably revert to the regular version when the time comes to renew. I have the same requirements as you, Andy, and I'm also looking for a replacement system for Adobe.
